We are looking for a new
Treasury Senior Manager
, who will play a key role in our Finance organization. This is a unique opportunity to lead the treasury function for Zealand Pharma, a C25 listed biotech company (Nasdaq Copenhagen: ZEAL), who has successfully managed to raise substantial capital these last years, of which recently DKK 7 billion in June 2024 (largest ever Nordic biotech, and largest ever European biotech capital raise with development stage funding).

The position reports to the VP Finance & Accounting. You will be working out of Zealand Pharma’s group offices in Søborg, Denmark.
Responsibilities
Strategic Treasury Management:
Lead the treasury function for Zealand Pharma, develop and implement a comprehensive treasury strategy aligned with the company’s financial goals and objectives.
Evaluate and optimize the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
Oversee the company’s debt portfolio, including debt issuance, refinancing, and repayment strategies.
Evaluate and update the company’s Treasury Policy in alignment with the company’s Audit Committee.
Cash Flow Management:
Oversee the company’s investment portfolio and investment decisions, maximizing yield and ensuring optimal returns within the agreed risk profile.
Manage global cash positions and forecast cash flows to ensure adequate liquidity for operational and investment needs.
Bank and External Relationship Management:
Act as the company’s main representative towards banks, lenders, financial institutions and agencies, and the broader Nordic treasury network.
Develop and maintain banking relationships to support the company’s cash management needs.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risks.
Perform internal controls requirements in connection with these risks.
Implement risk mitigation strategies, including hedging programs and other financial instruments.
Monitor compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Operational Management, Reporting & Analysis:
Perform day-to-day treasury related tasks in cash management, accounting or systems administration.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the accounting, tax, and legal teams, to ensure alignment of treasury activities with overall business objectives.
Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors on treasury activities and financial market trends.
Finance transformation:
Implement treasury systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security of financial transactions.
Candidate profile
The Treasury Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the company's treasury strategy and optimizing liquidity across our global operations. This role requires a
strategic
leader who is also
hands-on
, with the ability to navigate complex financial markets and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. The Treasury Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in risk management, cash flow forecasting, and capital allocation. This know-how will have been gained through a similar experience in an international corporation.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification in treasury is desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in treasury management.
Experience in an international company is desired.
Strong knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and treasury systems.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
English fluency written and spoken is required, Danish is a plus.
