We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified Laboratory Technologist with experience working within the area of In vivo Pharmacology for a time-limited maternity cover of about 15 months’ duration. We are responsible for the generation of preclinical efficacy data, in connection with the development of our peptide-based drug candidates. As an employee with us, you will be part of a dedicated international team, consisting of 11 employees. We have an animal welfare body that ensures the consideration of the 3R and our own ethical standards, with members from the department and from other departments. There will be work responsibilities on weekends (approximately every 6 weeks) and public holidays.
You will be responsible for the planning, design and carrying out of in vivo experiments to obtain efficacy and pharmacokinetic results in rats and mice.
Job Profile
Responsibilities include helping us to:
- Conduct high quality in vivo studies including contribution to protocols, planning, execution and documentation
- Execute basic surgery in rodents including anesthesia and analgesia
- Comply strictly with Animal Welfare Regulations, SOPs, DWSIs, OSHA rules as well as adopt and apply 3R rules to daily business
- Maintain an in vivo experimental laboratory, including selection of equipment, cleaning, handling of waste (incl. biowaste), house- and record-keeping
- Actively contribute to new method development and refinements
- Network within the department and beyond with professional staff to exchange experimental methods and ideas
- Make an effort to keep up-to-date with best practices and state-of-the-art lab methods.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have most or all the below qualifications:
- Laboratory Technician with 3+ years of experience
- Strong technical expertise in working with common laboratory species
- Skilled in animal handling with a high level of proficiency in various rodent dosing techniques including the preparation of biological fluids and tissue samples for further analysis
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry and ELISA. Experience working with primary cells/tissues (human and rodents) would be an asset
- Basic knowledge and comfort level working with IT systems for preparing data collection files and data collection; Good knowledge of MS Office Tools, GraphPad Prism
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to perform in a team-oriented environment
- Comfortable with oral and written English (Corporate language is English).
